Ability to Shift Itinerary Dates in a BMM Folder

This feature allows users to shift a full itinerary in a Booking Management Module (BMM) folder by a user-defined number of days.

The shifting process will only update BMM managed items with an item status code configured with a Cost Quote Type as per below examples:

Quote items generated from the reservation module will also be ineligible for date shift as the expectation is for updates to these items to be handled in the reservation module.

The BMM itinerary shifting feature is only available within cost quote folders.

Below there is a comparative example of a confirmed folder (at the top) and a cost quote folder (at the bottom). 

The cost quote folder shows an additional icon next to the folder departure Date field:

The icon is disabled (greyed out) because there is no itinerary in the folder. As soon as an itinerary is added to the quote folder, the shift itinerary icon is enabled as per below example:

After clicking the shift itinerary icon, users are presented with the Shift Itinerary Dates dialog:

• The Number Of Days To Shift field allows users to enter the number of the days the itinerary should be shifted by.
• The Shift Itinerary Earlier/Shift Itinerary Later radio buttons allow users to decide what action should take place.
• The Earliest Date To Shift field allows users to enter the earliest date that the itinerary should be shifted by. An itinerary can be fully or partially shifted. The BMM will check the items start and end dates at item and segment level against this date and take the relevant action.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• If the itinerary shift feature is triggered within a folder that includes items with an item status code configured with a Type different than Cost Quote, the shifting process will work partially.

For example, if a cost quote folder includes air segments with a CQ item status code (with the Type set to Cost Quote), a hotel with an OK item status code (with the Type set to Ok Status), and a transfer with a CQ item status code, the hotel item will NOT be shifted. In this scenario, the user will display the message below:

The date shift process comes to a halt when it comes to an item with an OK item status code and does not shift any more items after this date. If all the items have an OK item status code, the date shift process will update the folder departure date only and will stop there.

• The itinerary shifting feature does not apply to Air Tickets as they do not have a start date field. However, it applies to the Itin Details tab within air tickets and to the Room Details tab (Hotel tab), Rental Details tab (Car tab), Journey Details (Rail tab), Ship/Trip Details tab (Cruise tab) and Booking Details tab (Tour and Other tabs).

Example 1: shifting the whole itinerary by 2 days later

Air segments: 14AUG26 / 28AUG26

Hotel 1: 14AUG26 - 21AUG26

Hotel 2: 21AUG26 - 28AUG26

In this scenario, the itinerary will be successfully shifted and users will display the below warning:

The new itinerary looks like this:

Air segments: 16AUG26 / 30AUG26

Hotel 1: 16AUG26 - 23AUG26

Hotel 2: 23AUG26 - 30AUG26

Transfer: 16AUG26 - 30AUG26

Example 2: extending the first hotel stay by 2 days & shifting the return flight and the second hotel by two days

Air segments: 14AUG26 / 28AUG26

Hotel 1: 14AUG26 - 21AUG26

Hotel 2: 21AUG26 - 28AUG26

Transfer: 14AUG26 - 28AUG26

The itinerary is successfully shifted and it looks like this:

Air segments: 14AUG26 / 30AUG26 = ONLY the inbound date shifted by 2 days

Hotel 1: 14AUG26 - 23AUG26 = extended by 2 days

Hotel 2: 21AUG26 - 30AUG26 = shifted by 2 days later

Transfer: 14AUG26 - 30AUG26 = ONLY the inbound transfer date is shifted by 2 days

Example 3: shifting the itinerary earlier by 2 days, with earliest start date of 14 AUG26
