Improvements to the Expedia TAAP Booking Capture Module

This article provides an overview of the improvements made to the Expedia TAAP booking capture module in the 20.058 release.

1- Branch interfacing settings

In the BMM, go to Options > Interface > select the branch (this step is applicable only to users that have access to more than one BMM branch) > select the record for Expedia TAAP Accommodation > the Interface Configuration dialog displays > the screenshot below shows the settings that have been added to this dialog in the 20.058 release:

Among these settings, the most significant are the VAT related settings. TAAP is still not providing the VAT breakdown. However, if VAT is configured within the Expedia TAAP financial vendor, these branch interfacing settings will ensure that the BMM calculates the VAT as accurately as it can.

2- Meal basis handling

The BMM can now handle all the main meal basis: AI (All Inclusive), RO (Room Only), BB (Bed & Breakfast), HB (Half Board) and FB (Full Board). The description of the meal will be displayed in the room record printing notes tab. This is very useful for the BB meal code, because in TAAP this is associated to multiple variations of this board basis.

Below are a few examples of how meal basis are now handled by the BMM:

The BMM will also handle any other variation of these main board basis by using a meal code OH and displaying the board basis description in the Printing Notes tab of the room details record.

3- Aggregating pricing lines

A new setting has been introduced in the branch interface configuration to aggregate the Accommodation Cost and Taxes & fees pricing lines into one.

In the BMM, go to Options > Interface > select the branch (this step is applicable only to users that have access to more than one BMM branch) > select the record for Expedia TAAP Accommodation > the Interface Configuration dialog displays > the screenshot below shows the settings that have been added to this dialog in the 20.057 release:

Once the Aggregate Pricings checkbox is ticked, the Pricing Description field will be displayed together with a Lookup button. This field and lookup allow you respectively to type a new or search for and use an existing pricing description. This pricing description will be used for the aggregate pricing line as per below example:

4- Hotel check-in and check-out information are stored in the item Printing Notes tab

Previously, hotel check-in and check-out information were stored in the hotel item Non-printing notes tab in a not-very user-friendly format.

Now check-in and check-out information are stored in the item Printing Notes tab in a user-friendly format as per below example:
