The Dolphin marketing campaign module allows you to run a query in the booking management module to obtain a mailing list based on various criteria such as destination, total booking spend and more. Mailing lists extracted from the Dolphin platform will allow you to target your customer base in a more refined manner.
To generate a mailing list from the booking management module, go to Bulk Operations > Customer Operations > Generate Marketing Campaign and select the Filter Customers button on the right-hand side, you will see the Marketing Query Templates dialog displayed.
Below is an example of a query using these filters to obtain a list of customers spending more than £2000 per holiday:
Folder Total Payable To Branch Amount Greater Than £2000 AND
Folder Creation Date After Or Including 01JAN23 AND
Customer First Email (To) Address Different Than Empty (No Data) - this 'where' clause is very useful and we recommend you to add it to every query you run to extract mailing lists. It will ensure that the results of the query will only include client profiles with an email address.
To generate and save the mailing list, click on the Export button at the bottom of the dialog and you will see the Export Template Search dialog displayed:
NOTE: if you are unsure about how to create an export template, you might find this article useful.
Select the relevant template in the Search Results grid and then click the Use button. The next step will be to select the location you wish to save your mailing list to and the file type (we recommend saving it as a .CSV file).
After this you will be displayed with the pop-up message informing you that the export was successful:
Then you can navigate to such location and retrieve the document you created:
Please note the below points:
1) If a client has multiple folders that meet the criteria set within the query template, there will be multiple records for that client in your export file. These can be manually removed from the .CSV file.
2) You will need to configure both the query and export templates according to your specific requirements.
3) Your security settings might need to be tweaked to give you access to the marketing campaign module.
